GRVT Burns 1.1 Million Tokens Ahead of Grvt 2.0 Launch and New Product Rollouts

Self-custodial trading platform Grvt has completed its first token buyback, purchasing and permanently burning 1.1 million GRVT tokens on the open market. The transaction removed close to 1% of the circulating supply and represents the first of five key milestones leading up to the launch of Grvt 2.0 at the end of November 2026.

On-Chain Buybacks and Transparency

Executed through an independent execution partner, the purchased tokens were sent directly to a designated burn address. Similar to crypto platforms prioritizing public auditability through on-chain verification, community members can track transactions, total burned tokens, and circulating supply stats using a public buyback dashboard.

The Foundation's token issuer plans to conduct further discretionary buybacks on a monthly basis without fixed purchase commitments. Co-founder and CEO Hong noted that the program supports long-term ecosystem development. The GRVT token, which launched via a token generation event in July 2026, confers no ownership, profit, or economic rights.

Four Product Milestones Leading to Grvt 2.0

Built on its own zero-knowledge (ZK) chain, Grvt plans to roll out four major product initiatives ahead of its major platform upgrade:

  • Grvt Earn (End of October 2026): Features target yields up to 11% derived from tokenized fixed-income cash flows, such as interest and invoice revenues.
  • Stable Funding Perps (November 2026): Introduces zero-fee perpetual contracts across stocks, commodities, forex, and indices with once-daily funding, aiming for over 1,000 markets by the end of December 2026.
  • Yield as Margin (November 2026): Allows eligible Earn balances to serve as trading collateral while continuing to accrue yield.
  • Grvt 2.0 (End of November 2026): Unifies these capabilities into a single self-custodial application featuring a refreshed brand identity and the 2027 roadmap.

This expansion addresses platform survey findings where 6 in 10 respondents reported holding at least 25% of their capital idle, with many migrating funds elsewhere for yields of 8% or higher. Founded in 2022, Grvt currently supports perps across roughly 200 crypto and real-world asset markets, competing in a sector where exchanges continue expanding tokenized real-world assets.

Why It Matters

By combining yield generation directly with margin collateral, Grvt addresses one of the primary inefficiencies in decentralized trading: the trade-off between idle earning and active risk deployment. If successfully adopted, enabling capital to generate returns while simultaneously backing perpetual positions could significantly enhance liquidity and retention on the platform. Furthermore, expanding beyond crypto perps to list over 1,000 traditional asset contracts positions the ZK-chain exchange to capture broader retail demand for multi-asset trading under self-custodial control.
