DeFi

Decentralized Finance — financial services running on blockchains without banks.

DeFi (Decentralized Finance) refers to financial services — lending, borrowing, trading, earning interest — built on blockchains and run by smart contracts instead of banks or brokers.

Anyone with a wallet can use DeFi apps, often without sign-ups or approval. The upside is openness and control; the risks include smart-contract bugs and scams, so caution matters.
