LBank Expands TradFi Trading as On-Chain Tokenized Stocks Reach $3.17 Billion

Cryptocurrency exchange LBank is scaling its traditional financial offerings heading into 2027, recording peak daily trading volume above $3 billion for its traditional finance products. Speaking to BeInCrypto, Kaia Wong, LBank's VP of Marketing & Partnerships, detailed the exchange's strategy to capture user interest in macro developments like artificial intelligence and global monetary policy.

Stock-Linked Instruments and Marketing Retention

To capitalize on non-crypto market demand, LBank now hosts over 250 trading pairs across traditional stocks and commodities. Among these is a stock-linked instrument tracking chipmaker Nvidia, which offers synthetic price exposure without granting direct equity ownership to traders. This push aligns with broader market shifts, such as Gate expanding beyond crypto into global equities, as overall on-chain tokenized stock value climbed 395% over a year to $3.17 billion as institutional interest grows alongside institutional tokenization adoption.

To attract users to these expanding markets, LBank has partnered with digital cultural brands like Nobody Sausage and Pudgy Penguins. An August campaign with Pudgy Penguins featured 500,000 USDT in promotional incentives. However, Wong highlighted that while rewards drive initial adoption, long-term retention depends on market relevance and execution, stating that "retention is actually the key to our performance."

Ecosystem Listing Practices and Risk Realities

Beyond traditional markets, LBank is expanding into new blockchain ecosystems, launching a dedicated token zone following Robinhood's public mainnet release in July. Wong emphasized that LBank evaluates every token individually through liquidity and holder analysis, cautioning that Robinhood's network host status does not imply endorsement of projects launched on the chain.

Addressing high-risk promotional terminology like "100x gems," Wong clarified that the phrase represents historical peak gains rather than guaranteed average returns, recognizing that many assets fail to sustain early trajectories over time. She noted that order book depth and consistent matching rules are essential for reliable execution. Marking its eleventh anniversary under the theme "Come as you are," LBank aims to tailor its broadening multi-asset platform to traders of varying experience levels.

Why It Matters

Centralized exchanges are increasingly integrating traditional finance assets to protect trading revenues from cyclical crypto bear markets. By offering synthetic exposure to companies like Nvidia, exchanges keep user liquidity locked inside their platforms rather than losing capital to legacy brokerages. However, trading synthetic instruments lacks native equity ownership rights and regulatory protections, leaving user outcomes heavily reliant on exchange liquidity, order book execution, and platform solvent reserves.
