Quant Surges 300% on Enterprise Payment Deal as Cardano Faces Whale Sell-Off Warning

Altcoin markets are showing divergent trends as Quant (QNT) trades near $235 following a massive rally, while Cardano (ADA) faces technical sell signals and SUI targets a key breakout level. QNT has jumped 300% over two weeks after being selected for an enterprise payment initiative by The Clearing House, which handles over $2 trillion in daily transactions.

  • Quant (QNT) surged to a five-year peak near $370 before retracing to $235, gaining 130% over the past week.
  • Cardano (ADA) whales offloaded 90 million ADA worth over $22 million since September 20.
  • SUI trades near $1.18 with a market capitalization of nearly $5 billion while approaching key resistance at $1.27.

Quant Rallies 300% on Clearing House Selection

In mid-September, QNT was trading near $60 before entering a strong uptrend driven by fundamental announcements. The primary catalyst occurred when The Clearing House selected Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative. The network operates major payment systems processing more than $2 trillion per day.

Following the news, QNT exploded to a five-year high of nearly $370 before settling around $235, representing a 300% gain over two weeks. Analyst Ali Martinez identified $430 as critical channel resistance, noting a breakout could send the token toward $2,000. However, trader Doctor Profit confirmed he completely liquidated his position, citing an uncomfortable trading environment despite recent gains, reminiscent of volatility seen when QNT and NIGHT rallied.

Cardano Faces Downside Risk After Whale Liquidations

Cardano (ADA) posted a 25% gain in September to surpass $0.25, but several technical indicators hint at a potential retracement. Large holders have dumped 90 million ADA (worth over $22 million) since September 20, while open interest contracted 9% within seven days.

Technical chart signals also present caution, as the Tom DeMark (TD) Sequential indicator flashed a sell signal on ADA’s daily chart on September 26. Martinez highlighted $0.24 as key mid-range support. A break below $0.24 could force ADA down toward $0.21, whereas holding above it leaves $0.28 as the upside target.

SUI Builds Consolidation Pattern Ahead of Golden Cross

SUI has gained 17% over the last seven days to reach $1.18, bringing its market valuation close to $5 billion. The token is nearing a golden cross on the daily chart, where its 50-day moving average crosses above its 200-day moving average, a technical setup that analyst Ali Martinez suggests could trigger a rally toward $4.

Since September 12, SUI has followed a pattern of consolidating within parallel channels prior to moving higher. Martinez noted on October 2 that an hourly candle close above $1.27 would confirm the next bullish breakout step.

Why It Matters

The diverging paths of QNT, ADA, and SUI highlight how corporate adoption news is driving asset-specific decoupling across altcoins. While real-world integration with settlement networks processing trillions can spark multi-hundred-percent rallies, heavy whale distribution in tokens like ADA shows that momentum can evaporate quickly without sustained buying interest. Traders should monitor key structural levels like $0.24 on ADA and $1.27 on SUI to gauge whether current market trends will continue.
