Grvt Burns 1.1 Million GRVT Tokens, Unveils Roadmap for Zero-Fee RWA Trading and 11% Yields

Self-custodial trading platform Grvt has completed its first token buyback and burn by purchasing 1.1 million GRVT tokens on the open market, permanently destroying nearly 1% of its circulating supply. The burn represents the first of five major roadmap milestones scheduled ahead of the platform's full Grvt 2.0 launch at the end of November 2026.

Token Burn and Upcoming Yield Offerings

The GRVT buyback was executed through an independent partner, with all acquired tokens transferred to a public burn address verifiable via the Grvt buyback dashboard. According to Grvt co-founder and CEO Hong, the token issuer plans to conduct further discretionary buybacks on a monthly basis. The GRVT token, which originally launched in July 2026, confers no profit-sharing, economic, or ownership rights.

Following the token destruction, Grvt laid out four additional product launches between late October and the end of November 2026:

  • Grvt Earn (Late October 2026): Targets yields up to 11% generated from tokenized real-world asset (RWA) cash flows, including interest, invoice income, and premiums.
  • Stable Funding Perps (November 2026): Introduces perpetual futures covering equities, commodities, foreign exchange, and indices with zero trading fees and funding charged once daily.
  • Yield as Margin (November 2026): Allows eligible Grvt Earn balances to serve as collateral for trading without losing yield accrual.
  • Grvt 2.0 (Late November 2026): Combines earning and trading into a single self-custodial account, introducing a new visual identity and the platform's 2027 roadmap.

RWA Market Expansion and Trader Efficiency

Founded in 2022, Grvt runs on its own zero-knowledge blockchain and currently supports roughly 200 cryptocurrency and RWA perpetual futures markets. The platform aims to list over 1,000 markets by the end of December 2026, aligning with broader sector growth as seen in platforms like XT Exchange expanding into equities and event markets.

The upcoming redesign addresses insights from a 2026 survey of Grvt users, in which six in ten traders reported that 25% or more of their capital on the exchange sat idle. Many users noted withdrawing funds off-platform to chase yields of 8% or higher. By turning yield-earning assets into usable margin, Grvt aims to resolve capital drag while maintaining self-custody.

Key Takeaways

  • 1.1 million GRVT tokens (close to 1% of circulating supply) were bought on the open market and burned.
  • Grvt Earn targets up to 11% yield on tokenized RWA cash flows starting in late October 2026.
  • The platform plans to scale from 200 current markets to more than 1,000 zero-fee perpetual markets by December 2026.

Why It Matters

Capital inefficiency remains a primary pain point for decentralized exchanges, as traders are forced to choose between earning yield on reserve assets or keeping funds liquid for active market positions. By allowing tokenized RWA yields to serve directly as trading margin inside a single self-custodial balance, Grvt targets a major friction point in decentralized finance. If Grvt successfully expands its zero-fee perp model to over 1,000 non-crypto markets, it could set a benchmark for cross-asset collateral efficiency across DEX platforms.
