BTC, ETH, and XRP Plunge After $6.3B Binance Hack as Analysts Eye Buy-the-Dip Levels

Major digital assets tumbled on Friday following a $6.3 billion security breach at Binance, leaving top tokens struggling to recover lost ground. Bitcoin (BTC) fell to a six-week low of around $76,500 before bulls briefly pushed prices above $78,500, though the asset later receded to trade near $76,700 as market sentiment deteriorated after the Binance $6.3B exploit triggered market crash.

Bitcoin Targets Key Support After Binance Shock

Cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez observed that BTC was rejected after retesting its 50-day moving average, with immediate resistance descending toward $78,000. Martinez highlighted the 200-day moving average near $73,000 as the primary technical zone where he plans to reassess a dip buy. In contrast, trader Rekt Fencer drew parallels to previous industry crises, including the 2022 FTX meltdown and last year's Bybit hack, noting that prior catastrophes were followed by major price resurgences and asserting that "the bottom is in."

Key price levels and analyst targets include:

  • Bitcoin (BTC): Trading near $76,700 after rejecting at the 50-day moving average, with $73,000 identified as key support.
  • Ethereum (ETH): Testing $2,200 after breaking below a daily ascending broadening pattern targeting $2,000.
  • Ripple (XRP): Down 4% to $1.23 after losing $1.25 mid-range channel support, with $1.00 as the lower boundary.

Ethereum and XRP Signal Potential Dip-Buying Zones

Ethereum (ETH) experienced heavier selling pressure than BTC, temporarily slipping below $2,200 and currently trading just above that level as Ethereum tests $2.2K support. Martinez noted a breakdown from a daily right-angled ascending broadening pattern pointing toward $2,000. Analyst Ted warned that a weekly close beneath $2,200 risks opening the door to a deeper drop below $2,000.

Meanwhile, XRP dropped 4% over 24 hours to $1.23. Martinez stated that XRP breached its mid-range support around $1.25 within a parallel channel active since February, warning of a correction toward $1.00 if $1.25 is not reclaimed. However, analyst EGRAG CRYPTO argued the pullback presents a prime buy-the-dip opportunity, describing current levels as an accumulation zone that has historically preceded 500% rallies toward $8 to $9.

Why It Matters

This market-wide sell-off underscores how systemic exchange exploits can override technical chart setups, forcing key support levels to yield to liquidity shocks. While short-term metrics point to potential further downside toward $73,000 for BTC and $2,000 for ETH, traders are watching whether institutional buyers step in at these historical moving averages. The divergence between immediate technical breakdowns and past post-hack recovery cycles will determine whether this drop evolves into extended consolidation or a quick rebound.
