Stablecoin

A crypto token designed to hold a steady value, usually pegged to a dollar.

A stablecoin is a token engineered to stay at a stable value — most commonly $1. People use them to park value, trade, and move money without exposure to crypto's volatility.

They achieve stability in different ways (cash reserves, other crypto as collateral, or algorithms). The reserve-backed kinds are generally considered the most reliable.
