Centralized trading platform XT Exchange has launched its Hyperliquid Smart Money Copy Trading service, enabling its 12 million registered users across more than 200 countries and regions to mirror decentralized perpetual strategies directly from their exchange accounts.
The integration connects selected Hyperliquid trader profiles with copying functionality inside an XT account. Eligible users can allocate capital and automatically follow trading activity without bridging tokens to Hyperliquid, managing private keys, or interacting directly with smart contracts.
Proportional Sizing and Direct Account Execution
The copy trading framework utilizes proportional sizing to connect follower balances with lead traders. Instead of executing identical absolute order values, the system scales trade sizes based on the capital proportion used by the lead trader while maintaining the same leverage and margin mode.
All funds and mirrored trades remain within XT Exchange's internal platform. This architecture allows exchange users to participate in on-chain trading strategies without creating a separate decentralized workflow or executing individual orders manually.
Risk Controls and Market Conditions
XT Exchange emphasized that copying a strategy does not guarantee matching past performance. Users who begin copying an active position execute orders at available market prices rather than the lead trader's original entry price. Differences in entry timing, execution costs, funding rates, and fees cause follower returns to vary from lead profiles.
Followers retain account-level controls, including balance allocation settings, portfolio-level stop-loss triggers, and the ability to stop copying at any time. However, copied futures positions remain subject to market liquidation, slippage, and platform custody risks. This feature builds on the exchange's broader ecosystem, which includes structured yield options through XT Earn.
Founded in 2018, XT Exchange is entering its ninth year under its "Build the NeXT" initiative, operating services across spot, margin, futures, TradFi exposure, a real-world asset marketplace, and XT Pay.
Why It Matters
This integration illustrates a growing effort by centralized exchanges to abstract complex decentralized finance (DeFi) workflows for retail traders. By removing the friction of token bridging and self-custody management for protocols like Hyperliquid, XT Exchange retains trading volume on its centralized platform. However, while copy trading automates order execution, users remain fully exposed to leverage risks, timing slippage, and exchange custody.
