Autonomous intelligence lab Ritual, founded by former Polychain Capital partners Niraj Pant and Akilesh Potti, announced on October 26, 2026, the mainnet launch of Ritual Chain, an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain specifically built to host persistent, autonomous AI agents capable of managing independent onchain wallets, identities, and private state.
Native AI Infrastructure and Sub-300ms Block Times
Unlike standard blockchains designed primarily for financial transfers, Ritual Chain embeds model access, confidential compute, and automated scheduling directly into its execution layer. The network achieves sub-300 millisecond block times and incorporates 15 native precompiles that enable smart contracts to perform LLM inference, access web data, and schedule future executions without relying on third-party off-chain oracles.
The network employs an execute-once, verify-many-times execution architecture audited by Zellic, delegating heavy compute tasks to specialized nodes to preserve throughput. Following a public testnet live since June that processed over 40 million transactions, Ritual Chain launches alongside core ecosystem partners: Phala Network for GPU-backed Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), LayerZero and Stargate for USDC cross-chain transfers, and Nous Research to deploy its Hermes model.

Ritual has secured more than $30 million in funding led by Archetype (which led the initial 2023 round) and Polychain Capital.
