Ripple has announced a major expansion of its Ripple Treasury platform at the Swell 2026 conference, introducing AI-driven workflows and continuous liquidity management for corporate clients. The upgrade allows enterprise users holding digital assets, including the company's $2.5 billion stablecoin RLUSD, to earn yield around the clock.
Real-Time Treasury Orchestration and 24/7 Yield
At the center of the updated Ripple Treasury platform is an orchestration layer powered by GSmart, Ripple's AI-focused technology. The system automates financial workflows across cash positioning, liquidity forecasting, reconciliation, and payment settlement. Designed for global corporations including American Airlines, Trax, Subway, Adecco, Kingfisher, and Christian Louboutin, the architecture aims to unify decision-making and execution on a single network.
Ripple also introduced 24/7 Returns, a mechanism enabling eligible institutional users to earn yields on operating cash stored in Ripple wallets during weekends, holidays, and overnight hours. Citing the 2026 AFP Liquidity Survey, Ripple noted that 46% of organizations expanded their U.S. cash reserves over the past year, while 86% of treasury professionals expressed interest in real-time money market funds that align with investment mandates. This comes as institutional interest in XRP infrastructure builds following periods where XRP spot ETFs resumed inflows.
"Treasury is moving from visibility to action, and the emerging challenge is orchestration: connecting trusted data, intelligence and the ability to move money so that better decisions turn into timely execution," stated Kevin Permenter, Research Director at IDC.
Expanding Institutional Integrations for RLUSD
The update reinforces the rapid ecosystem integration of RLUSD, which launched less than two years ago and now commands a market capitalization above $2.5 billion. Cross River Bank recently announced it will embed RLUSD into its banking rails to facilitate single-API conversions between fiat dollars and stablecoins.
Additionally, Standard Chartered introduced institutional custody support for RLUSD on the XRP Ledger, while Ripple partnered with Securitize to allow 24/7 swaps between RLUSD and shares of tokenized funds, including BlackRock's BUILD and VanEck's CBILL.
Key Takeaways
- Ripple Treasury Expansion: Unveiled at Swell 2026 with GSmart AI tech to automate liquidity management.
- 24/7 Returns Launched: Enables corporate clients like Subway and American Airlines to generate yield on idle digital assets overnight and on weekends.
- RLUSD Growth: Stablecoin market cap surpasses $2.5 billion with new integrations across Cross River Bank, Standard Chartered, BlackRock BUILD, and VanEck CBILL.
Why It Matters
Traditional corporate treasury management has long been constrained by banking hours, leaving capital uninvested during weekends and holidays. By pairing real-time settlement rails with AI orchestration, Ripple is addressing a clear inefficiency in global cash management for major multinational enterprises. If stablecoins like RLUSD continue securing integrations with institutional tokenized funds and commercial banks, corporate treasuries could increasingly move away from legacy banking schedules toward continuous, automated liquidity models.
