Pixagram Waives 20 PIXA Registration Fee for 250 Daily Users Through 2026

Panama City-based Pixa Rex S.A. and Swiss-registered Pixagram AG announced on October 15, 2026, that Pixagram, an anti-hierarchy social and pixel art network built on the standalone Layer-1 Pixa blockchain, will cover account creation fees for up to 250 new members daily through the end of 2026.

Opening an account on the Pixa chain standardly costs 20 PIXA. Under the new initiative, Pixagram will cover this network fee for eligible creators registering at Pixagram.com. Each public @username functions directly as an on-chain wallet address, replacing traditional alphanumeric wallet strings while utilizing a one-time phone verification step to restrict bot abuse.

On-Chain Artwork and Proof-of-Brain Model

Built on the Hive codebase with Steem lineage, the Pixa blockchain launched with a clean genesis block and no airdrop, producing a new block every three seconds. Unlike conventional media networks or NFT platforms where underlying media is stored on cloud servers or IPFS, Pixagram writes lossless pixel artwork directly into the blockchain transaction payload. The platform renders stored artwork up to 4K resolution across multiple styles, including CRT filters, hexagonal grids, and square pixels.

To manage network resources and content distribution, Pixagram uses a Proof-of-Brain consensus mechanism:

  • 70% of newly issued PIXA is directed to community-voted content.
  • 60% of content rewards are distributed to authors after seven days, while 40% goes to curators.
  • Pixa Power determines voting weight and governance rights, while Pixa Supra (PXS) provides a unit referenced by an oracle to an agnostic purchasing power index.
  • Every new account receives a starter delegation of stake Resource Credits to fuel initial posting and voting.

To preserve original content, the system scans uploads using PAPH-X, an open-source perceptual fingerprinting tool for pixel art, indexed alongside the Search V4 engine. Direct on-chain art sales are scheduled to launch in 2027.

Founder Statements and Market Context

"The old internet wants you trapped in feed fog, renting reach from gatekeepers who track every click," said Matias Affolter, Co-Founder of Pixa. "Today information is king, and Pixagram operates outside that hierarchy... Don't believe the hype. Create it."

Co-Founder Mathiew Estepho added: "The strongest rebellion is a working alternative. We're covering the network fee for 250 new accounts a day so any creator can step into build mode at zero cost. Claim your permanent @username now—because once a handle is written to the chain, it's gone forever."

As alternative web3 infrastructure matures alongside broader market movements—such as when the total crypto market cap hit $3 trillion in Q3—decentralized media projects continue to test alternative monetization models.

Why It Matters

Subsidizing the 20 PIXA onboarding fee addresses one of the primary friction points in decentralized social networks: the upfront cost of establishing an on-chain identity. Storing complete pixel art files directly within state storage rather than relying on external IPFS links eliminates asset decay, creating a true permanent record for creators. If Pixagram maintains daily user acquisition through 2026, its Proof-of-Brain model will offer a tangible test case for creator economy incentives prior to its 2027 marketplace launch.
