The cryptocurrency market faces more than $913 million in token unlocks this week as major projects prepare to expand their circulating supplies. Among the largest scheduled events are token releases from DoubleZero (2Z), Sui (SUI), and Collector Crypt (CARDS).
Key Token Unlocks Scheduled for This Week
- DoubleZero (2Z): Unlocking 1.66 billion 2Z ($113.20 million) on October 2, representing 47.69% of its released supply.
- Sui (SUI): Releasing 13.26 million SUI ($16.84 million) on October 1, equal to 0.32% of its released supply.
- Collector Crypt (CARDS): Unlocking 59.26 million CARDS ($11.67 million) on September 29, representing 10.62% of its circulating supply.
Breakdown of 2Z, SUI, and CARDS Distributions
DoubleZero (2Z), a network layer that routes validator traffic over fiber links to reduce latency, currently has a released supply of 3.47 billion 2Z out of a 10 billion 2Z total supply. Marking one year since trading began on October 2, 2025, the 1.66 billion 2Z unlock will be split seven ways: Jump Crypto receives 575 million 2Z, Malbec Labs gets 350 million 2Z, institutional investors take 300 million 2Z, the core team receives 250 million 2Z, contributors receive 100 million 2Z, while builders and validators take 50 million 2Z and 30 million 2Z, respectively.
Sui (SUI), a Layer-1 blockchain built using the Move programming language, has a released supply of 4.1 billion SUI out of a 10 billion SUI total supply. Its October 1 monthly unlock allocates 7.19 million SUI to early contributors, 4 million SUI to the community reserve, and 2.07 million SUI to Mysten Labs.
Collector Crypt (CARDS), a marketplace operating on Solana for tokenized physical trading cards, has a released supply of 558.21 million CARDS against a 2 billion CARDS cap. The September 29 release distributes 32.50 million CARDS to the team, 14.58 million CARDS to the community, 7.01 million CARDS to advisors, and 5.16 million CARDS to seed investors. Additional pending unlocks flagged by Tokenomist include Ethena (ENA), Falcon Finance (FF), and Sign (SIGN).
Why It Matters
Large token unlocks can trigger heightened short-term price volatility by increasing the supply of liquid assets in open markets. With DoubleZero releasing nearly 48% of its existing circulating supply in a single event, market depth and buyer demand will face a direct stress test. How institutional recipients and early contributors manage their newly unlocked allocations will determine whether these assets experience immediate sell pressure or stable absorption.
