Birdeye Launches Peak Terminal as Data Reveals Bots Drive 80% of Solana Trading Volume

Singapore-based crypto data provider Birdeye launched its institutional digital asset terminal, Peak, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, with subscription tiers starting at $799 per month. The product launch arrives alongside internal company research revealing that automated bots generate roughly two-thirds of all crypto trades, with automated activity reaching as high as 80% of total trading volume on Solana.

  • Birdeye launched Peak, an institutional terminal starting at $799 per month designed for hedge funds, family offices, and professional desks.
  • On-chain research indicates automated bots execute 66% of overall trades and 80% of volume on Solana, despite originating from just 1% to 3% of total active wallets.
  • Birdeye currently tracks over 400 exchanges across 20 blockchains, with clients including Coinbase, which uses its Exit Liquidity API on Base.
  • The analytics sector is undergoing rapid restructuring, marked by Kaiko acquiring Amberdata and Blockworks buying Messari for more than $10 million after its $300 million peak valuation in 2022.

Automated Bots Control On-Chain Volume

Birdeye’s internal analysis from September highlights a sharp divergence between active wallet addresses and trade origins. While automated bots execute approximately two-thirds of total transactions, a tiny fraction of 1% to 3% of wallets exhibit bot behavior, such as completing multiple transactions per second or buying immediately upon token listing. On Solana, where automated transactions dominate execution, bot activity accounts for up to 80% of total volume.

Co-founder and CEO Kha Nguyen explained that while on-chain volume reflects real market-moving capital, surfacing whether trades originate from manual traders or automated algorithms is critical for institutional execution. Birdeye plans to publish its complete analytical methodology in December 2026 alongside a comprehensive Solana year-end report.

Institutional Terminal Rollout and Market Shifts

The Peak platform provides institutions with venue-specific spot volume breakdowns, liquidity depth, ETF flow tracking, wallet concentration, token unlock schedules, and risk assessments. Birdeye currently indexes data across 20 blockchains and 400 exchanges, supplying backend liquidity analytics to major industry platforms. For instance, Coinbase leverages Birdeye’s Exit Liquidity API to evaluate executable pool liquidity on the Base layer-2 network.

Peak enters a shifting market landscape for crypto analytics firms amid broader shifts in Solana ecosystem dynamics. In June, Kaiko acquired Amberdata, while Blockworks acquired Messari for a reported figure exceeding $10 million—a steep decline from Messari's $300 million valuation in 2022. Elsewhere, Allium secured $40 million in funding, while Dune reduced its workforce by 25% to prioritize institutional products. Unlike many funded peers, Birdeye has built its platform without external venture capital.

Why It Matters

As institutional capital enters crypto, basic volume metrics can mislead funds if high-frequency arbitrage and market-making bots inflate surface activity. By distinguishing algorithmic execution from organic human demand, terminals like Peak provide essential clarity for executing multi-million-dollar orders without incurring unexpected slippage. Furthermore, Birdeye's bootstrapped growth demonstrates that sustainable data monetization can thrive even as venture-backed analytics firms undergo forced consolidation.
